The government informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday (7 December) that ISRO has scheduled six PSLV missions, three GSLV launches, and one commercial mission of Launch Vehicle Mark-3 for the year 2024, NDTV reported.

In response to an inquiry, Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to deploy a technology demonstration satellite during the third development flight of its latest launch vehicle, the SSLV.

The space agency is also planning to conduct two unmanned missions as part of the Gaganyaan programme. This is intended to verify the performance of the human-rated launch vehicle and the orbital module during real flight, he explained.

Furthermore, the minister stated that several sub-orbital missions with a test vehicle are in the pipeline to confirm the effectiveness of the Gaganyaan Crew Escape System under different abort scenarios.

The space agency has arranged for two self-governing runway landing trials involving the winged body Reusable Launch Vehicle. Additionally, the GSAT 20 communication satellite has been placed in orbit via a launch procured under a commercial contract by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).

The upcoming six missions of PSLV will be launching a variety of satellites and missions. These include a space science satellite and an Earth observation satellite. Additionally, there will be two technology demonstration missions and two commercial missions managed by NSIL.

The trio of GSLV missions are set to dispatch a meteorology satellite, a Navigation satellite, and a Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite, in collaboration with NASA and ISRO. Concurrently, the LVM3 launch represents a commercial endeavor undertaken by the NSIL.
