The head of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and former chief minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, has given his support to the demonetisation scheme. This move followed the visit of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence after an entire day of war of words between the government and the opposition in the state legislature. Kumar and Yadav were seen together for almost an hour, as per this Times of India report.
RJD member of Legislative Assembly Alam told the Times that both Kumar and Yadav were in favour of demonetisation. He said Yadav was in favour of the move but against its poor implementation. Alam informed the Times that the chief minister later called all the legislators for a meeting at a later time, but the subject of discussion wasn’t revealed.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
