Dear Reader,
Early last week my team published its 43rd ground report as part of our special coverage of 2019 Lok Sabha elections. We planned on doing 50 ground reports and are now all set to get to the target.
Our reporters have visited some of India's most interesting constituencies such as Pathanamthitta in Kerala to Barmer in Rajasthan. We're covering every possible phase in Bengal polls bringing reports from nearly every district there.
So what do our reporters do?
They spend a minimum of 2-3 days travelling to all assembly constituencies in the seat, speaking to the public and political leadership. Only after spending substantial amounts of time on ground, in the seat, that our team sits down to draft the reports that you get to read.
You can read all our ground reports here.
What's special about our reports? We don't shy away from discussing politically incorrect views. Most importantly: we are not hostage to a jaundiced view of India.
We won't, for example, shy away from getting you the truth about cattle smuggling - other media houses will simply go for the narrative war where its all the Right's fault.
Do you like our work? This project was possible because of support from readers such as you who contributed Rs 2,999 to Rs 14,999 to help pay for the reportage.
Would you also like to back us? We're a reader supported media house doing stories that others won't touch. It's your subscription that keeps us going.
Click here to contribute to the 50 Stories Project - we would love it if you could make a small payment of Rs 2,999 to support our reportage
Back us for the last leg of this project. Will you make a contribution?
Yours,
Amar Govindarajan
