OPPO mobile phones have now partnered with Tencent Games, a gaming company popularly known among the Gaming Community for the 'PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds MOBILE Campus Championship 2018' in India, reports The New Indian Express. The partnership has enabled the gaming company to host India's biggest eSports Championship.
The Game is responsible for having given rise to the trending phrase of 'winner winner chicken dinner', and saw a total of 20 teams compete at the grand finale. The ultimate winner was awarded prize money of INR 50 lakh. Along with the mega prize pool, participants also competed with the various awards at the refurbished PUBG themed store. Other awards were MVP - Overall Best Player with maximum number of MVP awards; The Executioner - Awarded for maximum kills overall; The Medic - Awarded for highest number of revives; The Redeemer - Awarded to the player with the highest amount of health restored; The Rampage Freak - Awarded for maximum kills in one lobby and The Lone ranger - Awarded for Maximum Time Survived in game.
PUBG has become one of the most trending games among youngsters, especially college-going students. After receiving multiple entries amounting up to a total of 10,000 teams from over 2,000 colleges, a month-long action-packed tournament finally culminated on 21 October at the first-ever PUBG-themed OPPO store in Bengaluru.
