Accident Or Design? Anupam Kher Says ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ Trailer Missing From YouTube

BySwarajya Staff

Anupam Kher, who is portraying former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in the January 11 release, “Accidental Prime Minister”, complained on his Twitter page that the trailer seems to have gone missing on Youtube.

He tweeted that the trailer which was trending on number 1 till Tuesday seems to have disappeared and not found even on the first fifty results.

NDTV states that the trailer doesn’t appear on the first page of results or when one types “Accidental Prime Minister”.

Kher’s tweet saw a flurry of similar response, echoing his worries.

Kher, a celebrated and veteran actor, is portraying Dr Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of the Congress-led UPA regime in the film. The film is based on the bestselling book of the same name, penned by Sanjay Baru, who served as media advisor and chief spokesperson in Singh’s tenure.

The film was bombarded with controversies mainly from the Congress party. Vipin Wankhede, State President of Madhya Pradesh’s NSUI, the youth wing of Congress, threatened that whichever theatre screens this film will be responsible for the damage inflicted on them. Satyajeet Tambe Patil, President of the Maharashtra State Youth Congress, sent a letter to the producers demanding special screening, raising objections to "incorrect presentation of the facts" in the film.
