After Lifting Nearly Five Months Long Ban On Indian Flights In July, Pakistan Again Mulls Airspace Closure For India

In another anti-India offensive since India scrapped Article 370 and bifurcated the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) into two separate Union territories (UTs), Pakistan is now contemplating on announcing a complete ban on the usage of its airspace by Indian flights, reports Economic Times.

The development was announced by Pakistan's Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry who said that the government of Pakistan had made a decision in this regard at a recently held cabinet meeting.

"Prime Minister (Imran Khan) is considering a complete closure of airspace to India, a complete ban on use of Pakistan land routes for Indian trade to Afghanistan was also suggested in Cabinet meeting, legal formalities for these decisions are under consideration... Modi has started, we'll finish!" Fawad said in a tweet.

This is the second time in the recent past when Pakistan is mulling to announce a closure to airspace for Indian flights. Earlier in February, after India carried out the Balakot airstrikes, Pakistan had announced the closure of its airspace which was completely lifted off nearly after 5 months on 16 July.
