After PM Modi’s ‘Vistaarvad’ Swipe On China, INC Chhattisgarh Takes To Twitter, Says There Is ‘Vistaarvad’ In Pants

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made use of the word "vistaarvad" (meaning expansionism) during his rousing speech to soldiers at a forward location in Ladakh, a remark from the official account of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has come to light.

In a post on Twitter, INC Chhattisgarh has used the word "vistaarvad". The reference is to half pants becoming full pants. The word "vistaarvad" is used for describing it.

Modi praised the soldiers for the bravery shown by them and their compatriots in the violent face off against China last month.

Over the mention of "expansionism", Modi was understandably taking a swipe at China. “The age of expansionism is over," he said.

This report quotes Modi as saying in his speech: “The age of expansionism is over. This is the age of development. In the centuries gone by, it was expansionism which hurt humanity the most and sought to destroy it. Those who are driven by expansionism have always posed a danger to the world. History bears testimony that such forces have either been destroyed or been forced to turn back. It is due to this experience that the world is coming together against expansionist forces.”

PM Modi’s surprise visit to the forward post in Ladakh along with his speech reflected a stern stance on China.

During his days as a pracharak in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Modi, as was the norm, wore the iconic khakhi shorts. In 2016, the RSS, heralding a change after generations, switched from the khakhi shorts to brown trousers.
