Sun Direct has become the first DTH operator to introduce long-term regional packs and others are expected to follow suit, Telecom Talk has reported.
The new packs introduced by Sun Direct come with a validity of up to six months and cover regional languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali and Odia. These long-duration packs also come with a three month variant.
The subscribers can also get a discount of about 7 to 10 per cent if they choose to avail these packs. For example a six month pack which costs Rs 1,077.96 will be available at Rs 958.47. Similarly a three month pack costing Rs 538.98 will be available at Rs 500.82.
It was earlier reported that Tata Sky has launched Annual Flexi Pack of its own under which it would provide a recharge credit of one month to the subscribers. It means that the customers would be able to enjoy 13 months of TV viewing while paying for 12 months.
To avail this pack they just have to maintain a balance exceeding the yearly subscription cost. For example if the yearly subscription cost is Rs 2400, a balance equal to or excess of that needs to be maintained.
