Noted actor and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday (17 September) praised Mumbai Metro for its convenience and efficient mode of transportation.
He gave an instance of one of his friends taking a metro instead of his car during a medical emergency and called it most efficient. His friend also said that the whole experience was more convenient and efficient than a private vehicle.
He also appeared to take a dig at the critics of Mumbai Metro, possibly those opposed to the Aarey colony car shed by stating that the solution for pollution should begin by planting trees at one’s garden.
This tweet by Bachchan was welcomed by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation’s Managing Director Ashwini Bhide. She reiterated her organisation’s commitment to provide a faster, safer, convenient and pollution free commute.
