A sarpanch and another person were killed in a grenade attack in a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday (26 November), police said.
The grenade attack in Hakura occurred as 'Back to the village' programme was underway, with government officials also present on the occasion, and was followed by firing. A police team has reached the spot.
The incident came hours after two civilians were injured in a mysterious blast at Hazratbal.
Following the revocation of Article 370 on 5 August, the Kashmir Valley has witnessed a spurt in grenade attacks, in which three people, including a non-Kashmiri vendor, have died.
The police, source said, is working to identity those behind the grenade attacks.
