The Union Government is reported to have replaced three members of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society who had been critical of its decision to set up a museum for all Prime Ministers at Teen Murti complex in Delhi, reports The Economic Times.

The new panel of members includes former Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar, Journalist Arnab Goswami, President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Vinay Sahasrabuddhe (Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentarian) and Ram Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

A notification issued by Ministry of Culture said economist Nitin Desai, professor Udayan Mishra and former bureaucrat BP Singh would no longer continue as society members. The newly nominated members will serve until 25 April 2020.

One of the former members, BP Singh, had earlier opined that he had "basic problems with the title and the concept of the proposed museum for all Prime Ministers. If there is a PMs’ Museum, there may be a demand in every state to have CMs’ Museums as they are the leaders of the States."
