Kapurthala policeman Amrik Singh Shera has claimed that his song “Gwandian de Dhol Vajda” has released without giving him credit, The Tribune India has reported. The song which features Richa Chadda and Varun Sharma has already crossed 6 million views three weeks after it was released. This fresh claim comes two years after the high profile controversy surrounding the song ‘Kaala Chashma’.

Shera has already approached and given his complaint to SSP, Kapurthala, in which he has mentioned the name of singers as well as the company which uploaded the song without his knowledge and given him no credits. Furthermore, he has demanded action against the company as well as the singers of the song.

Shera believes this incident is a significant setback to him. “I had written the song ‘Gwandian de Dhol Vajda’ in 1990, the same time when I had penned down ‘Kala Chashma’. A friend of mine from Canada told me that the song was released. I again felt cheated.” He said he wants a name for them. “I write songs because I find peace in them, but this kind of behaviour is not acceptable every time,” he said.

The manager of the present singers of the song Jora Randhawa and Dr Zeus claims Satpal to be the owner of the song, “Satpal had sold the rights to a company in London. We took rights from that company. I have all paperwork with me and all contracts along with a NOC. Why would we release a song if we do not have the rights? Shera can approach me directly if he has any problem.”
