In what is seen as a new dimension to the ride-hailing culture of UK, Bajaj and Piaggio auto rickshaws are thronging the roads of Liverpool, reports Financial Express.
The Indian based ride-hailing giant Ola has come up with a fleet of rickshaws, popularly known as tuk-tuks in Britain, to have an edge in the competition over it’s rival, Uber. As part of the initiative, Ola gave free rides to the people to allure them to have an experience of tuk-tuk rides across the lanes and streets of the city.
Adorned in resplendent neo green jacket, Managing Director of Ola UK, Ben Legg himself drove the tuk-tuks and took people around.
“I have been driving passengers around the city today and have really enjoyed the chance to discuss the challenges that the community faces and how we can help with our new technology”, Legg was quoted as saying.
Ola forayed into the UK market by launching itself in Cardiff in August 2018, followed by gradual expansion to the cities of Bristol, Bath and Exeter in November.
