The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday (5 June) summoned senior IPS officer from Bengal HMS Mirza in connection with the Narada sting operation in which various Trinamool politicians and senior officials have been allegedly recorded accepting bribes, reports Times Now.
Under this sting operationcarried out in 2014 by a media organisation, various Trinamool politicians and senior bureaucrats were allegedly seen accepting bribes and introducing various colleagues purportedly interested in the same.
Investigation in the matter was later assigned to the CBI and Enforcement Directorate. During the course of its investigation, the CBI has interrogated Trinamool leaders like Firhad Hakim and Madan Mitra. Mukul Roy too is considered as among the accused in the matter which took place while he was still with the Trinamool.
A few days ago the Enforcement Directorate had summoned four individuals including daughter of Trinamool leader Sadhan Pandey and wife of former Kolkata mayor Sovan Chatterjee to probe the matter.
