The world’s largest online community of software developers and forum for professional, as well as enthusiast programmers, Stack Overflow has appointed Bengaluru-born Prashanth Chandrasekar as its new CEO.
The decision was made public by outgoing CEO and co-founder Joel Spolsky through a blog post on the site.
“Prashanth was born in Bangalore, India, the city with the highest number of Stack Overflow users in the world, one of the global capitals for software developers writing the script for the future.
He started out as a software engineer before moving over to management. He has a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Maine, a Masters in Engineering Management from Cornell, and an MBA from Harvard. He worked at Capgemini as a management consultant and Barclays as an investment banker in their technology group before joining Rackspace in San Antonio, Texas” the blog reads.
Founded in 2008, Stack Overflow is the forum of choice for a large number of software professionals to share knowledge. The site records over 50 million unique visitors per month and partners with several major software companies like Uber, Microsoft and Bloomberg among others for hiring professionals.
