Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister G Parameshwara has said that 940 more potholes are left to be fixed. He has also said that 94 per cent of the potholes have already been filled, the Times Of India has reported.

While the minister claimed that south Bengaluru has only 100 potholes, citizen groups claim that there are at least a thousand of them in the region. Koramangala Residents Welfare Association has claimed that there are at least 100 potholes in Koramangala itself. “Imagine how many there would be in the entire south zone”, a member of the association is quoted to have said.

The minister said that out of the 15,239 potholes identified, 14,299 have been filled. 940 potholes which are yet to be fixed are in Yelahanka (40), Dasarahalli (40), west zone (35), east zone (159), south zone (135), Rajarajeshwarinagar (68), Bommanahalli (135) and Mahadevapura (338).

A twitter handle Whitefield Rising questioned the veracity of the number of potholes in a tweet.

A helpline was earlier set up on 15 June for the citizens to report the potholes. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had asked citizens to post the pictures of the potholes to the BBMP website.
