Four men have been arrested for stealing 150 smartphones from Flipkart’s delivery hub at Alipur in New Delhi, reports Business Standard.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Ranjan said that a certified investigation expert of Flipkart, Maan Singh, filed the complaint on 19 February.
The smartphones that were being transported from the warehouse at Binola, Bilaspur to the company’s delivery hub were stolen. A case was registered, and the police started to investigate, ACP Ranjan said.
“Four members of a gang were arrested from Dwarka area, including gang leader Santosh Kumar, leading to the recovery of 30 multi-brand new mobile phones from their possession,” he said.
The four accused - Santosh Kumar, Akhilesh, Ranjit and Brijmohan work for different transport companies in Delhi as drivers, he said. Thirty stolen smartphones worth Rs 2.5 lakh were seized from the gang, he added.
Leader Santosh and Brijmohan had been involved in another theft case on similar lines that was registered at the Fursatganj Police Station in UP the officer said while adding that over 100 sugar sacks were stolen from a container which carried the public distribution ration.
