Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Tuesday (21 May) said that he was confident of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) alliance getting more than 60 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
After a meeting with Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Sanjay Singh said that their first priority is to stop Bharatiya Janata Party from coming to power.
“Results will be declared after two days. We met to discuss the strategy to be followed after that. The first priority is to stop BJP, pair of Narendra Modi-Amit Shah & communal forces. This was also a courtesy call,” Singh was quoted by ANI as saying.
The AAP leader also exuded confidence that SP, BSP and Rashtriya Lok Dal alliance in UP will win the maximum number of seats and asserted that the opposition will form a strong government in the Centre.
“I feel the gathbandhan will get more than 60 seats in UP. BJP will be wiped off across the country. Exit polls will prove to be completely false, like it had happened before. Opposition will form a strong government at the Centre,” Singh said.
Singh also accused the Election Commission (EC) of working in favour of BJP and said, “The Election Commission has entirely become a puppet of the BJP government. They should shift their office to BJP headquarters,” he said, as reported by ANI.
