CBSE To Increase Questions With Internal Choice In Class X, XII Board Exams Enabling Students To Attempt More, Claims Report

In what may come as a major relief for students attempting class X and XII board examinations this year, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) may increase the number of optional questions, reports News 18 Hindi.

While earlier only long answer questions had more than one question to choose from for a student, now 11 such questions may be provided. Reports claim that the information was been provided by CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi in a programme organised in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (9 February).

Currently, 10 to 11 such questions with multiple options is being provided to class X and class XII board students. Total 55 subjects, 40 for class XII and 15 for class X will see such changes.

The changes will enable students to answer questions from the areas they are the strongest in. More and more students will be able to attempt the question papers fully.

The report quotes CBSE coordinator Jagdish Sharma as saying, “Questions with internal choices will directly benefit the students. Their marks will improve. The problem of not being able to attempt the full paper will also be tackled as students will be able to choose questions. Such a step by the board will benefit the students hundred per cent.”
