Chandrayaan-2 Landing: Bengaluru To Host PM Modi During Final Descent Of Vikram Lander On Lunar Surface

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bengaluru on Friday (6 September) to witness the landing of the Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander on the surface of moon from the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) facility in Peenya, reports The New Indian Express.

According to the report, PM Modi will land at Yelahanka Air Force station at 9.15pm from where he will go to the ISRO facility. He will be witnessing the final descent of Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander, which is scheduled in the early hours of Saturday (7 September), from the Satellite Control Centre (SCC), ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC).

The ISRO has planned to begin the powered descent of the Vikram lander between 1am and 2am on 7 September, and after 15 minutes of descent, the lander is scheduled to touch down on the lunar surface anywhere between 1.30am and 2.30am.

During the event, PM Modi will also be interacting with the winners of the Space Quiz conducted for students of Class eighth to tenth across India, an official statement said.
