The Lok Sabha leader of the Congress party Adhir Ranjan Choudhury compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a Gandi Naali (dirty drain) while speaking in the lower house on Monday (24 June), Times Now reported.
Choudhury while replying to Minister of State Pratap Chandra Sarangi, after being taunted about the “India is Indira and Indira is India” quote angrily retorted that Kahan Maa Ganga, Kahan Gandi Naali (There is no comparison between Ma Ganga and dirty drain) to buttress that there is no comparison between Indira Gandhi and Narendra Modi.
He then added that “don’t compare monks with monster”, thus purportedly equating Prime Minister Modi with a monster.
He further said that, “don’t force us to say anything”, to give the impression that he was ready to make similar statements if provoked.
Choudhury had earlier demanded that the moustache of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman be declared the “national moustache”. He also rhetorically questioned why Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were still member of parliaments and not in jail as promised by the BJP.
