Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia may be charged with criminal conspiracy by the Delhi Police for the alleged assault of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, reports NDTV. Prakash had alleged that he had been called to the chief minister’s residence late at night in February and that he was manhandled and assaulted by legislators of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of Kejriwal.
Kejriwal’s house was searched twice and he was interrogated by the Delhi Police in connection to the assault case. Kejriwal in turn has called the entire investigation ‘politically motivated’. He then alleged that various Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in Delhi had been on strike and camped at the Lieutenant Governor’s residence for nine days.
The police had also inspected the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera’s at Kejriwal’s residence and a forensic analysis showed that there was a 40 minute delay in the recording. Of the fourteen cameras present, seven were not functioning.
