The Indian Railways has launched the latest feature on their website where passengers would be able to view the reserved chart as well as see the status of their seats while booking, ANI reports. The feature aims to ensure more transparency and put a stop on ground corruption.

“A new feature on IRCTC to ensure transparency when booking berths has been launched. With customer-friendly features and an enhanced visual experience reservation charts have been made available to the public,” ANI quotes a tweet from Railway Minister Piyush Goyal’s official handle.

The latest feature would display the layout of the nine classes of coaches and also provide a graphical representation of the coaches in the train along with berth wise accommodation status on irctc.co.in, the website of Indian Railways.

Passengers also can approach the TTE on board for ticket booking, based on the information of the availability of seats, Indian Railways said.

On Wednesday, Minister Goyal said that users could also avail the complete information on vacant berths from the source of the train and intermediate locations. Customers can use the information for on-boarding booking of vacant berths bt the TTE, according to rules.

“This feature is available on the web as well as mobile version,” Goyal said before concluding that the feature would make the entire process transparent.
