Delhi Metro: After 2 Years’ Delay By AAP Government, Phase IV Projects Finally Under Centre’s Consideration

Union government on Thursday (3 January), informed Parliament that the proposal for fourth phase of Delhi Metro, which was forwarded by the city government in last week of December, is under consideration of the Centre, Money Control has reported.

Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Hardeep Singh Puri, in reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, said that Centre had received the proposal on 28 December.

"The proposal of Delhi Metro Phase-IV has been received from the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi through Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on 28.12.2018 and is under examination," Puri was quoted in the report as saying.

The Minister, responding to another question, said that no fund has been allocated to the project so far. The fourth phase of the Delhi Metro project is estimated to cost around Rs 45,000 crore.

The projects marked under the phase IV of Delhi Metro are, 12.54 km elevated Mukundpur-Maujpur corridor, 12.58 km underground Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor, , 21.73 km elevated Rithala-Bawana-Narela corridor, 28.92 km Janakpuri West-RK Ashram elevated corridor, 7.96 km Saket G Block elevated corridor, 20.2 km Aero City-Tughlakabad elevated corridor,
