The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DRMC) has issued a call for tenders for Phase III of the Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project, asking all such applications to be submitted between 27 June to 4 July 2019, reports Rail Analysis India.
The tenders have been invited for the supply, installation and testing of Ballastless Track stabling lines, which are to be used at the elevated depot at Noida Electronic City as part of the extension between Noida City Centre to Noida Sector 62.
The estimated value of the contract is around Rs 14.78 crore.
A mass rapid transit system is a type of urban public transportation network which is marked by a capacity for carrying a high number of passengers; such systems generally operate on an electrical setup and have dedicated lines on which to travel upon.
Such systems are already used widely in the West and in China, are increasingly being adopted in India to meet rapidly increasing numbers of commuters.
