Delhi Metro: Revised Plan For Noida-Ghaziabad Corridor Costing Rs 1,866 Crore, Consisting 6 Stations Now Ready 

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has prepared a revised detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed corridor from Noida Electronic City station of Blue Line to Mohan Nagar station of Red Line.

The total cost, according to the report, of this line connecting Noida and Ghaziabad has been estimated to cost Rs 1,866 crore with six stations planned on the route, reports Times of India.

Another line, an extension of the Blue Line in Ghaziabad from Vaishali to Vasundhara Sector 2, has also been included in the DPR. However, it has been termed as phase 4 project work on it will be done after completion of the phase 3.

“DMRC has submitted a revised DPR for metro phase 3 line and as per the DPR, it will have six stations — Vaibhav Khand, DPS Indirapuram, Shakti Khand, Vasundhra Sector 5, Vasundhara Sector 2 and Mohan Nagar,” Kanchan Verma, the vice-chairperson, Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) was quoted in the report as saying.

“The cost of the corridor has been pegged at Rs 1,866 crore and the length of the corridor will be 5.91km from Noida Electronic City (Sector 62),” he added.

The first DPR, which was submitted by DMRC in February last year, had to be revised because of the GDA’s decision to extend the line to Mohan Nagar, instead of earlier proposed Sahibabad. The length of the corridor was 5.11 km and it had four stations with an estimated cost of Rs 1,926 crore. The cost has been brought down by Rs 60 crore in the revised DPR.
