In what could delay the admission process in the Delhi University, the admission committee of the varsity is yet to decide on the agency that will conduct the entrance examinations for the various courses in the institution, reports The Hindu.
“The portal is the same for merit-based courses and entrance exam based courses. The admission process will start once the dates are finalised. We are yet to finalise the agency that will be conducting the entrance exams,” said Rajeev Gupta, Dean, Students Welfare.
He added the agency will most likely be selected in the coming week while an other official said that National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the exams. It is said that the delays be attributed to the technical difficulties that are from the server that is to be used for the examinations. The server is reportedly undergoing tests and some problems are arising because there are new features that are being explored.
A standing committee suggested that there be partnerships with multiple payment gateway service providers, making it easy for the student to pay the fees. Earlier, there was one payment gateway which would lead to the server crashing with the heavy traffic that emerges from students accessing the site to pay examination fees.
