Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday (16 May) began her fourth tranche of announcements pertaining to the Rs 20 lakh crore economic package under Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman said that structural reforms will be the focus of fourth tranche of economic stimulus package with an aim to boost growth, create jobs in the country.
The FM announced that the government will establish research reactor in PPP mode for production of medical isotopes to promote welfare of humanity through affordable treatment for cancer and other diseases.
Additionally, several facilities will be established in PPP mode for using irradiation technology for food preservation. The move will compliment various agricultural reforms announced in the past few days and assist farmers.
She further added that India's robust start-up ecosystem will be linked to the nuclear sector. Technology Development cum Incubation Centres will be set up for fostering synergy between research facilities and tech entrepreneurs
