The latest trends in the Hyderabad municipal corporation polls suggest a face-saving victory for the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), the ruling party in the state.
Telugu news Channel TV9 reported at 10.30 am of the trends that were available for 136 of the 150 seats, the BJP was way ahead taking the lead in 82.
However, the latest trend show TRS taking a lead. Reportedly, TRS is leading in 62 seats, AIMIM in 31, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 22 and Congress in 3 seats.
The AIMIM candidate Hussaini Pasha has won from Kishan Bagh ward. TRS candidate Rasuri Sunitha won in Mettuguda division.
The counting of votes began at 8am on Friday with postal ballots to determine the fate of 1,122 candidates.
The BJP had turned the GHMC into a prestigious fight seeing a chance to emerge as a major force in Telangana with Congress and TDP being marginalised.
