Hindu US Lawmaker Tulsi Gabbard Emerges Big Winner In First Democratic Presidential Debate, Show Polls

Hindu lawmaker Tulsi Gabbard who is vying to become the US Democratic party’s Presidential candidate for the 2020 polls, has emerged as a big winner following the first Presidential debate held on 26 June in America, Washington Examiner has reported.

As per an instant poll conducted by Drudge Report, 34.65 per cent of its readers believed that Hawaii representative Tulsi Gabbard was the winner of the first Dem debate.

She was followed by Senator Elizabeth Warren, who emerged as a distant second with 13.8 per cent of the vote. Democratic aspirant John Delaney came in the third place with 10.79 per cent vote.

Similarly Gabbard also emerged as a winner in the Washington Examiner poll, with a similar voting percentage of 34.15 per cent.

As pointed out by various experts, these poll may not result in a greater chance for Gabbard to clinch the Democratic candidature. Incidentally, both Washington Examiner and Drudge Report are right-wing websites who cater to conservative voters, most of whom don’t have any say in the Democratic primaries. The reaction of the Democratic party towards Gabbard’s candidature is tepid to say the least.

Gabbard an Iraq war veteran, became the first Hindu lawmaker in the US Senate and chose to take her oath of office on the Bhagavat Gita, which she cited as her inspiration in dedicating her life to the service of others.
