The Uttar Pradesh police on Sunday (23 March) stopped individuals found needlessly roaming around on Bareily’s roads during Janata Curfew and made them pose with placards which read, “I am enemy of the society; I would not stay home”, ANI UP has reported.

The Janata Curfew was an appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to all Indians urging them to stay home on Sunday (23 March) unless absolutely necessary. It was aimed at curb the spread of coronavirus.

As per the ANI UP report, those found roaming on the streets had no particular purpose and thus were made to pose with the shaming placards.

Eight individuals including a minor were detained in Mumbai’s suburb of Kalyan after they were found playing cricket during the Janata curfew.
