The Indian Air Force has launched a major search operation with the help of all available resources after its AN-32 transporter aircraft with 13 individuals on board went missing near the Chinese border at about 1 PM today (3 June), India Today has reported.
Out of the 13 individuals, eight were crew members and the rest were passengers. The aircraft is said to have taken off from the Jorhat Air Force base in Assam at around 12.35 pm and was scheduled to fly to Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground in Arunachal Pradesh, near China border.
After the aircraft lost contact, the Indian Air Force has launched an extensive search operation with the help of aircraft like Sukhoi Su-30 MKI and C130J transporter aircraft.
