UPSC topper Shah Faesal has reportedly been arrested while trying to leave India and has been sent back to house arrest in Kashmir, journalist Aditya Raj Kaul has reported.
As per Kaul, Faesal was prevented from leaving India via the Delhi airport and has been placed under house arrest in his home state of Kashmir.
Faesal who recently became a politician after resigning from the civil services has been making controversial statements since the abolition of Article 370.
It was reported that Faesal was extremely unhappy with the abrogation and had proceeded to vent out his anger on Twitter.
“There is no Eid. Kashmiris across the world are mourning the illegal annexation of their land. There shall be no Eid till everything that has been stolen and snatched since 1947 is returned back. No Eid till the last bit of insult is avenged and undone”, tweeted Faesal.
The tweet evoked diverse responses on social media. While some accused Faesal of provoking violence, others questioned whether his call to avenge every insult also includes the treatment meted out to the minority Kashmiri Pandit community.
