The Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal took a jibe at Navjot Singh Sidhu during the Kartarpur Sahib groundbreaking ceremony in Pakistan and said that Sidhu is getting more love and respect in Pakistan than in India.
This statement came after the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Sidhu could win elections in Punjab, Pakistan. "I heard there was a lot of criticism of Mr Sidhu when he went back after my oath-taking ceremony. I don't know what he was criticised for. He was just talking about peace and brotherhood. He can come and contest election here in Pakistan's Punjab. He will win."
Ms Badal cited the ceremony as ‘emotional and historical’ and quoted that if France and Germany can sort out their differences, the Berlin Wall can fall and if North and South Korea can resolve their conflicts, it’s time that our wall of hatred should come down too, reports NDTV.
In a bizarre controversy, Sidhu was seen posing for a photo with pro-Khalistani separatist, Gopal Singh Chawla, who is suspected in the recent attack on a Nirankari gathering in Amritsar. Chawla, earlier, has also met the 26/11 Mastermind, Hafiz Saeed.
The Kartarpur Sahib groundbreaking ceremony was attended by several dignitaries and ministers from both the countries.
