Actor Saif Ali Khan who recently courted controversy after claiming that there was no concept of India before the British arrived, has been slammed by his colleague Kangana Ranaut.
Ranaut who is known for towing the “anti-establishment” line over politics, slammed Khan’s statement and asked as to where did Mahabharata come from if there was no concept of Bharat in pre-British India.
Ranaut while speaking with Zee News said, “what Khan says is not true, if there was no concept of a Bharatwarsh then what was Mahabharata - an epic which was written over 5,000 years ago. Some people have built a narrative which suites them.
Ranaut added that ancient India had a collective identity like the European Union in today’s terms.
She also took on those who demand further partitions of the country by asserting that people are still suffering from the three partitions which took place in modern India and stated that never ever would she support the Tukde Tukde Gang.
