In a bid to challenge the rise of general delivery service Dunzo, which is backed by software giant Google, Swiggy has launchd its own pick and drop service ‘Swiggy Go’ across Bengaluru, reports The News Minute.
Using this service, Swiggy users will be able to send packages all across the city; packages can include anything from laundry, to car keys, documents, etc. Swiggy Go is only now becoming open to the whole public in Bengaluru, earlier it was being tested in its Beta phase.
Moreover, the company has also rolled out Swiggy Stores in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, which was only available in Gurugram previously. This service allows users to order almost any item of everyday use from a wide selection of stores.
“Swiggy’s vision is to elevate the quality of life of urban consumers by offering unparalleled convenience. After enabling this with food delivery for five years and stores across the city with Swiggy Stores, Go will open the Swiggy delivery superpower to all consumers in the city,” said Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety.
The deliveries on the Swiggy Go and Stores services will also be made by the existing fleet of delivery partners; the company believes this will open up a new source of income for its contractors.
