In a first, the nation is set to witness this year the conduction of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in 11 different languages including Hindi, reports Economic Times.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that this year thhe NEET will be conducted as per the Government's new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, giving the students the option to attempt the examination in 11 languages.
NTA also shared that NEET (Graduate) 2021 for admission in MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS courses will be conducted in an offline medium on 1 August.
Last year, around 15.97 lakh candidates had registered for NEET, out of which 14.37 lakh appeared for the examination on 13 September despite the menace of the COVID-19 pandemic being at its prime in the country.
It should be noted though that the candidates from containment zones were not able to appear for the examination on the said date, and were therefore given another chance on 14 October. As a result, the results of the examination were delayed as well.
