Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday (28 August) demanded that India needs to step up its aggression against Pakistan if the latter decides to close its airspace for India’s civil and commercial aircraft.
In a tweet, Swamy advised the Narendra Modi-led central government that if Pakistan closes its airspace for Indian aircraft, India should respond by closing the Karachi port. This, he said, can be achieved by placing a naval blockade on the ships passing through the Arabian sea.
In the tweet, Swami also asserted that the Arabian Sea needs to be renamed.
This statement by Swamy comes in the light of Pakistan’s threat of airspace closure and a complete ban on land routes for India-Afghanistan trade. Pakistani Minister Fawad Hussain who made this statement claimed that this proposal is being considered by the Imran Khan led cabinet.
