Niti Aayog has announced that it will develop a national data and analytics platform to make all government data accessible to various stakeholders in an user friendly manner, Economic Times has reported.
As per the announcement by Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar, the National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP) will ensure that the data is "assured, consistent, coherent and credible".
Kumar said that in the digital age it is imperative that India modernises its data system so that it is coherent to support analysis across sectors. The data hosted by NDAP will be hosted in multiple data sets and presented coherently with the help of visual and analytic tools.
It will also integrate a search engine for easy retrieval of data and aided by “seamless navigation and world class user interface”.
The data in question will be sourced from various centre and state ministries and will be updated on a regular basis.
The initiative will be led by the Niti Aayog vice-chairman who will oversee the whole process. A Technical Advisory Group comprising of sectoral and tech experts will also help drive the process. The first version of NDAP is expected to go online in 2021.
