Madhya Pradesh has struck gold with a promise of Rs 5.63 lakh crore by investors, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said.
The Chief Minister, who has pledged to make the state world's best business destination, said it has received investment commitments worth Rs 5.63 lakh crore across sectors during the two-day Global Investors Summit in Indore.
Vowing his government's full support to investors, Chouhan said his officials discussed all the issues raised by potential investors, assuring them a portal would soon be launched featuring all the relevant information.
The Madhya Pradesh government is working on easing the norms for doing businesses by amending rules on land use and fee for using it. The state will come up with a new policy to promote readymade garments industry, said Chouhan, assuring that the state will simplify the procedures to get all clearances on time.
On the issue of the rollout of the goods and service tax and its impact on state tax incentives, he said, a panel has been formed to ensure that all facilities continue even after the GST implementation. The Chief Minister called on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to help build international airports in Bhopal and Indore.
