Pakistan’s Prime Minster Imran Khan has announced that his country will not accept any more Muslim refugees from India in the event of a mass migration fuelled by the revocation of Article 370 and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Sputnik News has reported.
Khan made this statement while ironically addressing the Global Forum on Refugees in Geneva, Switzerland. He appealed for other countries to step into this matter.
Khan has alleged that this situation may lead to millions of Muslim fleeing India, thus creating a refugee crisis which may dwarf others. Khan has also warned that this may lead to an armed conflict between two “nuclear powered nations”.
While Imran Khan alleges a refugee crisis bearing out of CAA, the fact remains that the bill only deals with “giving citizenship” and not taking it away - thus negating any possibility of a migration crisis.
