Around 28 people were injured today (7 March) in a grenade attack by terrorists which took place at the packed general bus stand in the heart of Jammu, one of whom has succumbed to his injuries.
“It was a grenade explosion, all the injured have been shifted to a hospital, I request everybody to maintain calm. We are chasing all leads,” said IGP Jammu, MK Sinha. The blast took place at 12 pm.
This is now the third grenade attack by terrorists in the bus stand area of the city since May 2018, as reported by Times of India.
The blast scene along with B C Road was sealed off by the police, and a massive investigation has been launched to catch the terrorist who threw the grenade. Windscreen of a parked state road transport corporation (SRTC) bus was damaged in the blast.
The injured have been taken to a Government Medical College for treatment.
The IGP said, the police is collecting the evidence and “we are sure to hunt down the attacker”.
