In the light of Union Home Ministry having placed a ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), the Jammu and Kashmir Government issued a circular to all its employees on 16 April 2019, declaring any direct or indirect association with the two banned outfits would be deemed unlawful.
The circular also added that any such association shall attract the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971.
The Administrative Secretaries, Heads of the Home Departments, Managing Directors and District Development Commissioners to bring this to the notice of all employees concerned, the circular reads.
This development comes at the backdrop of massive crackdown on terror related recruitment and funding activities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir carried out by various separatist leaders led by the likes of Yasin Malik who heads the now banned outfit JKLF and is presently in a custodial remand with the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
