J&K: High Schools, Shops To Open In Areas Of Kashmir Where Restrictions Have Been Lifted, Says Government

The administration has decided to open high schools and shops in all the areas of the Kashmir Valley where restrictions have been eased, reports Indian Express.

This comes after the administration had already opened 3,037 primary schools and 774 middle schools across the Valley. It has also been reported that the attendance of teachers in the schools has risen consistently over the past week.

Briefing the media persons, J&K's Director of Information and Public Relations, Sehrish Asgar said on Tuesday (27 August) that the administration is also set to open 10 new police stations by 29 August which will help maintain law and order in the Valley and ease the lives of the citizens. Besides, the shops can also open in those places where restrictions have been removed.

In another move that is likely to give huge relief to locals, the J&K administration has decided to restore landline telephone services in 15 more exchanges.

Meanwhile, even as the movement of private vehicles has increased in Srinagar as well as other regions in the Kashmir valley, the administration is still to permit the public transport facilities to be restored.
