Kerala Health Minister K.K.Shailaja on Sunday (Mar 29) said on Sunday, 20 new cases of coronavirus positive cases were registered in the state, taking the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the state to 202
"Of the 20, 18 came from abroad -- eight from Kannur, seven from Kasargode and one each from Thiruvanathapuram, Ernakulam and Thrissur. Two, who turned positive got it from primary positive patients," said Shailaja in a statement.
"Currently 1,41,211 people are under observation which include 593 who are in hospitals. By now 21 people who were positive have now turned negative," added the Minister.
An official statement also pointed out that 18 of the 20 cases that turned positive today had come from foreign countries. The remaining two had contracted the virus from contact with the persons who had come from other countries.
The total number of active cases in Kasaragod has now risen to 80, and that of Kannur to 38.
At the moment, 1,41,211 people are under observation in Kerala, up from 1,34,370 the previous day. Of this, 1,40,618 or more than 99 per cent are still in home quarantine. The number of people, the high-risk cases, in hospitals have come down marginally from 620 to 593.
