The Jaipur Metro is all set to run on automatic mode, reports Metrorailnews.in This comes after the Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety conducted an inspection of the system last week. The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) specifically made a request to the Central authorities to allow the trains to run on Automatic Transmission Mode (ATO). The inspection was done on the stretch between Mansarovar and Chandpole.
ATO will enable the trains to run smoothly without intervention from the drivers. It will factor in issues such as speed, braking, movement and various other functions.
As a result of this technology, the role of the metro driver will be reduced only to pressing a button to open and close the doors of the train at stations.
The technology will also have adequate mechanisms in place to ensure safety. Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras will be installed to closely monitor systems both inside and outside of the trains.
