Raising the election pitch to new and communal heights, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday (10 April) accused the Congress of working closely with RSS in some of the constituencies in West Bengal, reports Times Of India (TOI).
In an attempt to consolidate minority votes within her party Trinamool, Banerjee also said that minorities had suffered the most under the BJP government at the centre.
“Don’t vote for Congress or CPM. They won’t win. Trinamool will form government in Delhi. Congress people in Bengal are with CPM in the morning, with Congress during noon and become BJP during night. Congress is working hand-in-glove with RSS here,” said Banerjee.
While campaigning in Islampur’s Chopra assembly segment within the Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency, the chief minister added, “Congress candidates in Behrampore (Adhir Chowdhury) and Jangipur (Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit) are fighting the polls with RSS backing.”
Target The Prime Minister
In another scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on 9 April said that the former is more autocrat than Adolf Hitler of Nazi Germany.
Mamata noted, “Modi has been baptised in politics through riots and mass killings. He is the king of fascists. Had Adolf Hitler been alive, he would have committed suicide seeing Modi’s activities.”
She went on say, “We all will unite and work towards building new India, once Modi is voted out of power.”
