MG India To Accelerate Production Of Hector SUV At Gujarat Plant After All Units Get Sold Out For 2019

Automobile manufacturer Morris Garages (MG) India has decided to ramp-up production for its signature Hector SUV, whose booking has now been halted following huge demand, Autocar India has reported.

The booking for Hector opened on 4 June and the company had received 10,000 orders till 27 June, which subsequently increased to 21,000. MG has thus announced that the car has now been sold out for a 2019 delivery.

In order to cater to the demand, MG is planning on accelerating its production to 3,000 units per month at its Gujarat plant by October. The auto maker has stated that the booking would be re-opened soon.

Hector has been priced between Rs 12.18 and Rs 16.88 lakh in India and its 1.5-litre petrol-DCT variant in glaze red has become the most popular among Indian buyers with a waiting time of seven months. Its 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid and 2.0-litre diesel variants have also registered a good response.

The car also comes with a five year warranty as part of after-sales initiative which is touted to be the best among its SUV rivals.
