The Modi government will issue commemorative coin of Rs 550 to mark the five hundred fiftieth birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, which will be celebrated this November.
On one side of the coin, which will be 44 mm in diameter, will have the picture of “Gurudwara Shri Ber Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab” with the inscription “550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji” in both Hindi and English on the top and lower periphery respectively.
On the left and right periphery of the coin, the year 1469 and 2019 will be inscribed respectively. It was in the year 1469 when the founder of Sikhism and the first of the 10 gurus, Guru Nanak Dev was born, reports Zee News.
The other side will have Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with Satyameva Jayate inscribed below. Word 'Bharat' in Devnagri and 'India' written in English shall be inscribed on it.
The standard weight of the coin made up of silver, copper, nickel and zinc will be 35 gram.
