Addressing a rally in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the government of Akhilesh-led Samajwadi Party has always discriminated on the basis of religion and caste.
“Ramzan me bijli athi hai tho Diwali me bhi ani chahiye; Bhedbhav nhi hona chahiye (If there is electricity during Ramadan then it must be available during Diwali too; there shouldn’t be any discrimination)” the prime minister added. He said “Gaon me kabristan banta hai to shamshaan bhi banna chahiye (If there is a ‘kabaristaan’ (graveyard), there should be a ‘shamshaan’ (cremation ground) too.”
Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, Modi said that the two have entered into an alliance because they feared to lose. It is an alliance between two corrupt parties, he added.
“The glow has disappeared from Akhilesh Yadav’s face, his voice has become feeble, he is afraid and looking for right words while talking to media,” he said, adding that the SP chief has “accepted that he has lost the game”.
Launching a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party, Modi on Sunday said exile of development must end in Uttar Pradesh, while appealing the people to cast their vote for a government which would ensure safety in the state.
Talking about cheaper medicines and urea, he said: "The people who were selling them on the black market, won't they come after me? Won't they punish me?”
“Who will protect me,” Modi asked. "We will, we will," the crowd roared back.
